A 9-year-old boy died after falling down an elevator shaft in the Flores neighborhood of Buenos Aires, according to police sources. The incident occurred this afternoon in a 10-story building located on Avellaneda Avenue. Firefighters arrived at the scene to rescue the minor who had fallen to the basement. A unit from the Jewish community, known as Jevra Hatzalah, assisted the victim until personnel from the SAME emergency service arrived. Paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and then transported the patient to the Teodoro Álvarez Hospital, where he died from multiple traumatic injuries and cardiac arrest.
